Birth through a Surrogate Mother

Surrogate mother is a woman who agrees to carry a child of another woman through artificial insemination, if the wife is infertile or not capable to carry a child because of health problem. If the wife is infertile the surrogate mother becomes the biological mother through Artificial Insemination by the husband's sperm cells, but if the wife is not infertile but only not capable to conceive, the egg cells of the wife together with the husband's sperm cells was placed in a special laboratory and through scientific method was able to produce an embryo which is called Invitro Fertilization (IVF) then injected to the surrogate mother's uterus for development and normal birth.

This process is now becoming very popular among Hollywood celebrities who cannot conceive normally. Some said they hired a surrogate mother for a small fee of $1,100 every month from the start of carrying the fetus until the time of birth of the baby.

Some of the celebrities who hire surrogate mothers are Sarah Jessica Parker and Mathew Broderick for their coming twins after years of trying the conventional way. Dennis Quaid and wife Kimberly for their twins who were born last 2007, and many others.

Not all surrogate mothers are for hire, I have read and seen in news that grandmothers gave birth to their grandchild, that they volunteer to carry the baby of their daughters because of health problem of the daughter. A 51 year old woman gave birth to a twin, she served as a surrogate mother to her 27 year old daughter after four years of failed pregnancy.

Becoming a surrogate mother raised a lot of question, others make it as a source of income while others do it for their loved ones. How a surrogate mother feel specially those for hire after giving birth and then relinquish the baby to his/her legal parents. Does she feel any lost or it's just work...
Only they, knew the answer. But there were some cases when a surrogate mother cannot separate love from "work", that they cannot give up the baby to the parents when mother instincts beat them.

Today everything is possible with the help of science, gone where the days when infertility is considered a curse or handicap.

It's till different if it's your blood, flesh and effort.... The effort is missing in surrogation so I dunno how that would be for the parent child(ren) intimacy.

Why it's usually twins? Maybe they want to have two kids all at once coz the real parents can't have them so better like "buy one take one"... Science really is a big help!
